Business Development Manager

A highly successful IT Solutions and Managed Services company is actively recruiting for a successful Business Development Manager to join their South West team specialising in defence. You will be responsible for proactively hunting and closing sales within the market either directly, through framework bids or via larger system integrators.

The role:

  • Creating and maintain good relations with national security and/or police and defence stakeholders
  • Find new business sales opportunities in an agreed geographical location within the set sales vertical
  • Successfully qualify potential sales opportunities to utilise time and company resources effectively
  • Attend client visits for both new and existing accounts
  • Develop a clear sales strategy to achieve targets for both non-recurring and annual recurring revenue
  • Take ownership of communications to all key stakeholders with external clients as well as reporting back to the leadership team
  • Work closely with the pre-sales Technical Architects to create bespoke solutions for each individual client
  • Promote brand awareness through relevant industry events

The candidate:

  • Experience in a sales role within the IT or telecommunications industry
  • A strong understanding of the National Security/Police/Defence sectors
  • Proven track record in closing new business sales opportunities
  • The ability to build and maintain fantastic working relationships both internally and externally
  • Represent and promote the company in an excellent manner at all times
  • Fantastic communication skills
