Location: Remote/Hertfordshire

Our client, an award-winning telecommunications provider is looking to recruit an accomplished Network Operations Engineer to be responsible for assisting with high level technical support to complex queries.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and provide support to 2nd/3rd line engineers
  • Supply technical knowledge and assistance to high level escalations from 2nd/3rd line support teams
  • To ensure the customer’s objectives of the solution is met
  • Act as a Project Manager on the technical side for new customers
  • Provisioning of new customer services
  • Engage with the customer technically to ensure delivery of the project is successful
  • Configure routers and switches when required
  • Effectively manage high level support tickets
  • Assist with training and development for junior members within the technical team
  • Support the Technical Director with ad-hoc duties

Experience:

  • High level knowledge around the following technologies:
  • BGP
  • OSPF
  • L3VPN
  • L2VPN
  • VPLS
  • Cisco & Juniper qualification essential
  • A minimum of 2 years in a helpdesk service role
  • Strong customer service skills
  • The ability to resolve complex technical issues
  • Experience with Cisco ASA & Fortinet firewalls
  • Previous supervisory skills ideal, but not essential
  • An autonomous worker, who can work remotely as well as play an active role within a team
